Scenario

A user notices that there is noGL ImpactofCost of Goods Sold (COGS)in a stand-aloneInvoice.

Solution

A. If a stand-aloneInvoicehas no GL impact on COGS, please check if theQuantity on Handis zero for all items, then that may be the reason for the lack of GL impact on COGS.

If there are available quantities, you may follow the following steps:

B. Create anInventory Valuation Detail Reportfor theLocationon theInvoice

1. Navigate toReports>Inventory/Items>Inventory Valuation> CustomizeSummary

2. Click theFilterstab

3. Set theDatefield to= is Between xx/xx/xxxx creation date of theInvoice

4. ExpandQuantity on Hand> expandLocation> selectName> set value to location on theInvoice

5. ExpandInventory Item> selectName> select allInventory Itemsfound on theInvoice

6. ClickPreview

Notice thatOn Handcolumn is empty.

On the date the Invoice was created, there was no item on hand. This is the reason why there is no GL impact on COGS.

There must beQuantity Availableat the creation date of standaloneInvoicesto have COGS impact.
