Custom Role With Full Workflow Permission Could Not See Specific Workflow

Scenario

There are scenarios when a Custom Role with full Workflow permissions is not able to view a specific Workflow. A possible reason for this is that the Workflow runs on a Record Type where the Custom Role does not have permission on. This article shows how to verify if the Custom Role affected has permissions for the Record Types configured on the Workflow.

Solution

  1. Using anAdministrator Role, verify whatRecord Typesdoes theWorkflowrun on:

    1. Navigate toCustomization>Workflow>Workflows
    2. Workflow to be checked:ClickEdit
    3. ClickPencilicon
    4. Sub types:Take note of theSub Record Typesthat are highlighted

  2. Check theCustom Roleif it has permissions for theSub Record Typesrunning on theWorkflow:
    1. Navigate toSetup>User/Roles>Manage Roles
    2. Custom Role:ClickEdit
    3. ClickPermissionstab
    4. Verify if theRolehas permissions to theSub Record Typesthat was noted from Step 1
