Resolve Error: Update Transaction Failure: No Valid, Open, Tax Period for Date - Null When Approving Journal Entry with Reversal

Scenario

User is unable to approve journal entry with reversal date next period due to notice: "Update Transaction Failure: No valid, open, tax period for date - null"

Solution

Check if there is Tax Period is already setup for next period or for the period of reversal:

1. Navigate toSetup>Accounting>Taxes>Manage Tax Periods

2. ClickSet Up Full Yearbutton

3. In theFirst Fiscal Monthfield, select the first month in your company's fiscal year

Example: January

4. In theFiscal Year Endfield, enter the year for which you are setting up tax periods

Example: 2019

5. In thePeriod Formatfield, select Calendar Months or whichever format is applicable

6. ClickSave
