Sales Order with Discount Item > Sales Order status is always Pending Fulfillment with No Fulfill button and Cannot be Closed

Scenario

  1. Create aSales OrderunderTransactions > Sales > Enter Sales Orders
  2. SelectCustomerand populate needed information.
  3. UnderItemstab > enter aDiscount Item
  4. ClickSave
  5. Click theBillbutton
  6. Save theCash SaleorInvoice
Status ofSales OrderisPending Fulfillmentbut with noFulfillbutton and even after clickingClose Order.

Solution

Discount Itemis a non-fulfillableItem, this theSales Orderstays asPending Fulfillment.
To resolve, follow these steps:
  1. Edit Sales Order
  2. Add any Inventory Item
  3. Set the Quantity to 0
  4. Check the Close checkbox for the Inventory Item
  5. Click Add
  6. Click Save

Sales Order should now beBilled.
