SCENARIO

    • Need to create a saved search and report to display the number of resources assigned to each project.

SOLUTION

1. Create the Report:

    • Navigate to Reports > New Report.
    • Select Project Backlog Time.
    • Report Title: Enter a descriptive title (e.g., "Project Resource Count").
    • Select the field you want to report on section:
        • Metric: Select Resources.
    • Select the format of the report section:
        • Choose Summary.
    • Select how you want to subtotal the report:
        • Component: Select Customer/Project.
        • Field: Select Name.
    • Click Run Report.
    • Click Customize.
    • Edit Columns:
        • Remove any unnecessary columns (e.g., Backlog).
    • Add Fields:
        • Expand Project Backlog Time and select Projects.
    • Click Save or Preview.

2. Create the Saved Search:

    • Navigate to Transactions > Management > Saved Searches > New.
    • Select Project.
    • Search Title: Enter a descriptive title (e.g., "Project Resource List").
    • Click Results.
    • Click Columns.
    • Click Remove All.
    • Add the following fields:
        • Field:Name | Summary Type:Group
        • Field:Project Resource Fields: Name/ID | Summary Type:Count
    • Click Save.

Now you have a saved search and report that efficiently display the number of resources assigned to each project.
