Scenario

User adds new Employee to Give Access and Default Password marked to be Required for Password Change on Next Login and received the following error:

"Only the user can change this password, as this user has access to more than one NetSuite account."

This error is normally received when the Employee being added have access in multiple NetSuite accounts. For example, see details below of employee:

  • Employee: John Smith
  • Job: Consultant
  • Employer: Company A

Company B hired Company A for Consultation. John Smith is given access to Company B's NetSuite Account.

Due to the nature of his job, John Smith has access to multiple NetSuite Account other than Company B's. He already have current email login and password for these accounts and setting default password in his access on Company B'saccount is not possible.

Solution

To give access to John Smith on Company B'sNetSuite Account, do the following:

  • Set Password= null
  • Require Password Change On Next Login= False

John Smith's access to Company B's account will inherit his existing password in other NetSuite Accounts and the Employee record will be saved.
