Assign Class Department Location to Customer and Other Entity Records

Scenario

The ability to assign Class, Department and Location to Entity records is not yet supported in NetSuite. This is logged under Enhancement 15880.

A possible alternate solution is to assign a Custom Segment to the Entity and source to new transactions.

Solution

1. Navigate to Lists > Relationships > Customers
2. Customer line: Click Edit
   
3. Hover over Customize
4. Click New Field
5. Label: Enter Label
6. Type:Select List/Record
7. List/Record:Select Department (or Class/Location)
8. Store Value:Enter Checkmark
   
9. Click Applies To
10. Enter Checkmark for Entity records where the classification needs to be set
11. Click Display
12. Subtab: Select Main
13. Click Save & Apply To Forms
14. Under Show column, mark the checkbox for the forms where the custom field needs to be added
15. Click Save

Note: This can be reproduced for any other classification needed such as Location and Class
