When exporting the results from Global Search, the Excel file only shows the header values but no data under it, although the data are visible on the UI.
This can be a result of having a selected Preferred/Default Saved Search in the system so when you export the results, the Preferred/Default Saved Search results are being taken out instead.
1. Export the results again and kindly take note of the name of the Exported Excel File. Otherwise, you may click Customise button under your global search results title.
Note: As a sample, here is an Item results from global search.
2. Below screenshot is a sample of the original default global result for Item Search.
3. If you have a different name for the SEARCH TITLE, then it's a custom saved search selected as your default. You must click More Options button to disable it as your default since it's not meant to display the results you would like to export. On the other hand, customize it to show the results you prefer. But in this sample, we will be disabling it. Sample is below screenshot:
4. Under Roles tab, disable PREFERRED SEARCH RESULTS by ticking it off. See screenshot:
5. Click Save.
