Item Record Import of Related Items Data > Invalid item reference key xx

Scenario

CSV import of Item, adding the related items data to an Item record. User received an error: "Invalid item reference key xx."

Solution

The Import Assistant supports the import of related item sublist data for item records when the Web Site feature is enabled. Related Items Data are mapped to the NetSuite field Presentation Items 1 : Item (Req) and user has the option to choose the following reference types:

• Names (Item Name/Number or Web Store Display Name*).
• Internal ID

The error is received when Name is selected as the Reference Type. Below are the possible scenarios:

1. The Item Name/Number was incorrectly used (misspelled, incorrect Item Name/Number etc).
2. The Internal ID was used.
3. The Item Name/Number is correctly used but there is a value set on the Web Store Display Name of the related item record. The Web Store Display Name should be used instead of the Item Name/Number.
