SCENARIO
A user has been creating / running an existing saved search with a Formula (Text) field that contains HTML codes formula. However, after 2023.2 release, the value (output) of the Formula (Text) now displays as a plain text.
UPGRADE
Netsuite has introduced a new formula field called Formula (HTML) that you can use to replace your existing Formula (Text) fields. This is created to improve the security of saved searches in your account. This change will also give you better control over who can insert HTML and scripts into a saved search. This applies to both existing and new saved searches.
SOLUTION
As of 2023.1 release, the list of saved searches that currently include HTML code in Formula (Text) fields is available in your account by navigating to Lists > Search > Saved Searches with HTML in Formula (Text). Kindly update all active searches on your system.
The new field Formula (HTML) can be accessible provided by a new permission called "Create HTML Formulas in Search"
As a one-time action, this permission has been enabled for users in your account who have both of the following permissions:
Create level access for the "SuiteScript" permission
Full level access for the "Perform Search" permission
Lastly, for additional security, after you update your searches, you may also want to enable the Disable HTML in Search Formula (Text) preference.
To set this preference, go to Setup > Company > General Preferences and check the Disable HTML in Search Formula (Text) box.
