SCENARIO
By default, NetSuite is accessible by going to system.netsuite.com via mobile internet browser app.
On the other hand, if users wish to use the NetSuite Mobile app specifically, a specific feature must be enabled and a permission must be added to a specific user or role.
SOLUTION A
To add Mobile Device Access permission to a specific user:
- Navigate to Setup > Company > Enable Features
- On Employees tab > under Permissions section (bottom part)
- Ensure Global Permissions is checked
- Go to Lists > Employee > Employees
- Hit Edit for your preferred employee
- On Access tab of the record > under Global Permissions subtab
- Add Mobile Device Access permission with Full level.
- Click on Save
RESULTS
See sample screenshot below:
Note: Adding the Mobile Device Access permission to a user's global permission means that no matter what role he/she uses to login on the app, he/she will still be able to login since global permissions always take precedence over the user's individual role permissions.
SOLUTION B
To add Mobile Device Access permission to a role:
- Go to Setup > User/Roles > Manage Roles.
- Hit Edit or Customize next to the preferred role.
- On Permissions tab, under Setup subtab.
- In a new row, add Mobile Device Access permission with Full level.
- Click Add, and then Save.
RESULTS
See sample screenshot below:
Note: Adding Mobile Device Access permission by role means that the user must select a specific role to be able to login and use the mobile app.
