The commitment of items to orders can be done automatically or manually based on your setting for the Perform Item Commitment after Transaction Entry preference located at Setup > Company > Enable Features > Order Management.

When this preference is enabled, NetSuite will automatically allocate items based on the set priority. The order with the highest priority will have items committed for fulfillment. Automatic calculation of quantities to be committed to prioritized orders can save you time and effort.

When you disable this preference, you must manually choose which orders to allocate items to. This can be done via the Commit Orders page that will now appear under Transactions > Inventory > Commit Orders.
