The Superannuation is deducted against the Base Salary amount of the employee after the Salary Sacrifice is deducted. The customer wants the Superannuation to be deducted against the Base Salary amount before the Salary Sacrifice.
As per the ATO's website:
"Salary sacrifice super contributions are classified as employer super contributions, rather than your personal contributions. They are additional to your super guarantee entitlements. Your employer must still pay your full super guarantee as though there was no salary sacrifice arrangement in place."
1. Navigate to Lists > Employees > Employees.
2. Click Edit on your preferred employee record.
3. Click the Payroll tab.
4. Look for a checkbox with the label: Salary Packaging for Super
Ticking this checkbox will correct the calculation for the Superannuation as it will be deducted as though there was no Salary Sacrifice arrangement in place.
