Scenario
Customer cannot send email when the Template Category field is not populated under Communication > Messages > Email.
When creating emails, Template Category field became mandatory.
Solution
The preference affecting this behavior is the 'MAXIMUM ENTRIES IN DROPDOWNS' field which can be found under the user's Personal Preference in Home > Set Preferences > General tab > Optimizing NetSuite section.
When the value of the MAXIMUM ENTRIES IN DROPDOWNS is set to a number less than the total number of your Template Categories, it changes the Template Category field to a pop up list, thus it is no longer setting the default value to -All-.
To change the settings mentioned above:
- Go to Home > Set Preferences > General tab > Optimizing NetSuite section.
- Change the value of the Maximum Entries in Dropdowns to anything greater than the number of your Template Categories or just simply enter any number between 100-500
- Click Save
