How to Import Inventory Adjustment for Serialized Inventory Items.
Solution
STEP 1. Create a Primary and Secondary CSV Files that should contain the following columns.
Primary:
- External ID
- Adjustment Account
- Adjustment Location
- Date
Secondary:
- External ID
- Item
- Location
- Adjust Qty. By
- Est. Unit Cost
- Serial/Lot Number (separate by comma)
STEP 2. Perform the import:
1. Navigate to Setup > Import/Export > Import CSV Records
2. On the Scan & Upload CSV File page
- Import Type = Transactions
- Record Type = Inventory Adjustment
- CSV File(s) = Multiple Files to Upload
- Select and upload the CSV File in order:
* Primary File - Inventory Adjustment: Click Select...
* Linked File (Optional) - Inventory Adjustment Adjustments: Click Select...
- Click Next
3. On the Import Options page:
- Data Handling = Add
- Expand Advanced Options > verify/select your preferred Custom Form
- Click Next
4. On the File Mapping Page, map the CSV files as follows:
- Primary File Key Column: Select External ID
- Inventory Adjustment Adjustments (Linked File) - Column: Select External ID
5. On the Field Mapping Page, map the CSV fields to NetSuite Fields:
- Click Next
6. On the Save mapping & Start Import page:
- Add an Import Map Name
- Click Save & Run
STEP 3. Validate the import
- Click Import Job Status link and check if the import is successful or if there's any error.
- Check the Inventory Adjustment list to see if the transactions were created.
NOTES:
- It is highly recommended to test the above steps on ONE sample item to verify if the import is successful. It is also best practice to test it in sandbox first, if you have one.
