Scenario
User would like to personalize the email body message and subject of their Customer Statements or to choose a specific email template for their statements that are both not attainable via the standard Generate Statement > Email.
Solution
You can use Bulk Merge > Email to send Statements to customers to be able to personalize the email body message and subject or to choose a specific email template that is not attainable via the standard Generate Statement > Email.
This has also been the workaround for customers who are experiencing Adobe link issues with sending standard Statement emails to customers (both receiving and sending issues).
Disclaimer
Customers with Parent and Child companies where both have identical Email Address do not receive correct email with statement. NetSuite automatically deletes duplicate messages to ensure that each email address only receives one copy of the email message. This is in accordance to the International Spam Law that is related with NetSuite Marketing Campaign Terms of Service - Answer Id: 23024. So if you'd like to proceed with Bulk Merge, you need to make certain that Parent and Child Customer Records have different email address before using Bulk Email Merge.
Steps
1. Navigate to Documents > Mail Merge > Bulk Merge > Email
2. In the Recipients tab > Select the following:
- Group Type = Customer
- Group = (name of the group)
Note: You can visit this article Bulk Email > Contacts, Customers, Employees to know how to create a group for your customers.
3. In the Message tab, select your Email template in the Template field or just direct edit the email body message.
4. From Attachments tab, tick on INCLUDE STATEMENT box to include statement PDF file then configure your preferred date.
5.Under TYPE dropdown menu, you can select to either send it as PDF, HTML, etc.
6. Click Merge & Send.
