Scenario:
Customer wants to change the owner of an existing saved search.
If a Saved Search is created by a certain User and it is set as Private then using your Access you cannot see the Report but if it is set as Public then you can definitely see the Report and be able to Edit it and change the Owner.
Below are the steps to change the Owner of an existing Search:
1. For the Saved Searches with Public Access created by a specific user
- Using Administrator Access, navigate to Reports > Saved Searches > All Saved Searches
- On the Saved Searches List > Click on Customize View button
- Click on More Options so that you can set criteria and limit the search results for searches created by a specific user.
- On the Customize Saved Search Result Page > under Criteria tab > add Owner | is XXX (where in XXX is the username)
- Name the Search
- Click Save
- You will now be able to see the list of Public Saved Searches created by a specific user
- Edit each search and just change the Owner
2. For the Saved Searches with Private Access created by a specific user (if you have an access to that specific user's account otherwise you cannot see the report)
- Using the specific user's access, navigate to Reports > Saved Searches > All Saved Searches
- On the Saved Searches List > Click on Edit View
- Click on More Options so that you can set criteria and limit the search results for searches created by the user
- Click on Preview
- You may now be able to see the Saved Searches with Private Access
- Edit the Search
- Click on Public Checkbox
- Click Save
- You will notice that the Owner field is not available hence you will do also the same steps that you have done to change the Owner for Public Searches as shown above by accessing it on an Administrator Role.
