Inactive categories (Department / Class / Location) are still showing in Financial Reports (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, etc.)

Scenario

To provide historical reporting and to avoid unbalanced totals, inactive categories (Departments / Classes /Locations, Subsidiaries) are still available in reports.

Solution

See below steps to remove them from reports:

1. Navigate to Reports > Financial > Choose applicable report > Customize

2. Click Filters tab > Expand Financial folder > Expand Department / Class / Location SubFolder > Click Inactive

3. Set value to False

4. Tick the box for Show in Filter Region (for reference)

5. Rename the report

6. Hit Preview or Save
