Scenario

You want to create a supplier credit that has an associated invoice in the system. However, you were unable to find the vendor record list under the Company field.

Solution

To create a vendor credit, the standard approach is to locate the Bill (Vendor) record via Transactions > Payables > Enter Bills > List. View the Bill record you wish to credit then click the Credit button. This process allows you to automatically link the credit to the bill upon saving. Refer to the screenshot sample below:

You may also remove some items added to the Credit before you save if necessary. Refer to the screenshot sample below:

Alternatively, if the Bill record contains several items and you only want to credit a few items then you can process your Credit through the manual approach. The manual process of creating a vendor credit is through Transactions > Payables > Enter Vendor Credits.

It is considered manual as you will need to select the correct Vendor name, and Location, enter Memo if necessary, the items to be credited under the Items tab > Items subtab, and the ReferenceNo..

You can link this credit to a Bill record by going to the Items tab > Apply subtab and selecting the correct Bill amount by checking the APPLY box accordingly. Refer to the screenshot below:
