If a user wants to remove the left side navigation portlet in their SiteBuilder webstores, they can follow the steps below.

Solution

To completely remove the Left Side Navigation Portlets:

1. Navigate to Commerce > Site Builder > Themes
2. Edit the current theme used for the Web Site.
3. Click the Body tab
4. Go to Left Side Navigation Template field
5. Remove all the content and leave a single whitespace, non-breaking space HTML ( ) or just a simple "space"
6. Click Save

Note: Removing the default Left Side Navigation Template code will not delete the portlets. The non-breaking space HTML entity is a must to turn the left side navigation portlet into a blank space giving an impression that it is already been removed but in reality it was just hidden from the user.

Also, this solution will remove the entire left side navigation in all pages/tabs/categories of the web store. Providing a uniform look for the entire webstore.
