Scenario

The Asset Proposal feature in the Fixed Assets Management SuiteApp enables you to propose all the transaction line items in the original transaction.

Example:

The customer created a Bill by navigating to Transactions > Payables > Enter Bills and entered multiple line items, say five, under Expenses. Once this transaction be proposed through Fixed Assets > Transactions > Asset Proposal, five line item pertaining to that source transaction (Bill) will appear.

In some cases, customer wanted these multiple individual components to be combined and tracked as a single proposed asset.

Solution

To combine all the transaction lines pertaining to that single source transaction we need to make a Parent Proposal and make all the other related asset proposals its Child Proposal.

1. Navigate to Fixed Assets > Transactions > Manage Asset Proposal

2. Take note of the Internal ID of your chosen Parent Proposal

3. Click Proposed Assets

4. Click Edit next to the asset proposal that you want to assign as child/included under the Parent Proposal

5. Choose in the Parent Proposal drop down the Internal ID of the chosen Parent Proposal

6. Click Save

Repeat to all the other relating proposed assets.

After making all the related proposed assets as child, the Parent Proposal will only be the one that will appear in the Asset Proposal sublist. To double check, you can find the child proposal on the Subproposal tab of the Parent Proposal record.
